When Your Heart Stops Breaking is a collaborative zine exploring the ache of Irish emigration and the identity shift of a generation pushed from home. Through poetry and design, it reflects on what it means to be Irish abroad—the grief of leaving, the guilt of thriving elsewhere, and the quiet redefinition of home as something carried within.

Writer Sarah Hamilton traces the textures of displacement: blackberry-stained hands, Kerrygold as currency, swallows over Spanish balconies, and friendships stretched across time zones. Designer Niamh McCabe translates longing into soft gradients, white space, and an Irish typeface printed in Amsterdam—bridging home and away.

Created by two lifelong friends, WYHSB honours connection across distance and the endurance of belonging. It asks: what does home mean when it stops loving you back?
